Santa Clause is coming to town

Shyeah, right. Because we all believe in the fat old man in red velvet, right? One thing that really creeps me out is how parents actually encourage their children into believing in a creepy old man who is constantly watching us – who knows if we’re awake, or asleep, or naughty, or nice. A guy who breaks into our house very year, steals our milk and cookies and leaves us presents!

One thing can be said for the theory of Santa, though – it certanly puts the fun in christmas. I’ve noticed that as I’ve grown older, christmas has become less and less exciting – and not just because I’ve been getting less and less presents, LOL. I would kill to have the christmas spirit I had when I was say, between 5 and 8. These days, it’s just so hard to get excited about christmas.

Right now, it’s christmas eve, and while I’ve had my moments, I have yet to become particularly silly in this ‘silly season.’ And you’d think I would, because last night, and tonight, my mother and I are wrapping presents at the shopping centre – voluntarily. You’d think wrapping loads of presents for christmas would get you in the mood. But no.

Although you should have seen my mother and my face’s when a guy came up to us wanting us to wrap a FISHING ROD. Priceless.

The only time I get excited about christmas nowadays is on the actual morning, when all the family is seated in the lounge and I realise – hey, presents!

Oh the joys of materialism – which is all christmas has really become, in my opinion.

Oh well, merry christmas!
